November Arts Show and Sale

The Theme for the Show in November is
“MEMORIES”
November 4th, 5th and 6th, 2011
Friday, 6pm to 9pm
Saturday, 10am to 6pm
Sunday, 10am to 5pm
NOTE: In November the show will be held
at The School Cafeteria next to the YMCA!!
Paintings, Prints, Stained Glass, Photography, Sculpture, Jewelry, Fiber Art, and Note cards will reflect the theme “Memories.” Enjoy live music, art demonstrations, and light refreshments. Meet the talented and quirky artists who are offering their work during this event.
The Tybee Arts Association presents a monthly art show and sale and participating artists have each rendered a new work reflecting their take related to the theme.
Refreshments will be served and there will be a raffle for items donated by the artists. Drawings will be done several times each day.

Juried Art Show featuring Fine Art and Original Crafts
from Local and Low Country Artists.
$2,000.00 in Prize money – awarded Saturday.
Live music and entertainment
New location this year – in Jaycee Park, behind the Arts Center @ #7 Cedarwood. We now have our own big top tent and refreshments will be available in the Arts Center. Painters, jewelers, potters, woodworkers, photographers, fabric, glass arts and weavers from throughout the Coastal Empire.
No charge to the public.

Update July Art Show & Sale
We just finished our second show and sold $2,280.00 of member art in June. We had 12 artists exhibiting.
The next show is JULY 9 & 10 – the theme is TYBEE VACATIONS.
If you want to be part of this experience, now is the time to sign up. You must be a 2011 member, put in 5 hours of preplanning/work and staff a 3 hour shift during the show. We have list of jobs to choose from and staggered hours for those of you holding down “other” jobs.

The Tybee Arts Center is located at #7 Cedarwood Ave in the old Ft. Screven FireHouse.
Original work and prints will be displayed as well as jewelry, fiber art, clay and sculpture and will be available for purchase. There will be demonstrations during the July show!

The Tybee Arts Association presents an art show and sale that showcases Tybee’s unique and “quirky” homes and other Tybee landmarks and edifices. Participating artists have each rendered a new work reflecting their image of a Tybee Home, Cottage, or other facade.
The Art Show and Sale is in conjunction with the annual Tybee Tour of Homes.
Take the Art Tour (admission is free)
The artists invite you to view the islands homes and landmarks from a different perspective.
Refreshments and music while you “tour” the Arts Center.

Wine, Dine, and Find – May 3rd!
Membership in an organization is kind of pointless if we don’t get to know each other. This is short notice but really, how much notice do you need to fix something simple and drop by a friends house for dinner and a glass of wine? See you there…

Meet the ARTIST’s GROUP - we plan art shows and the next one is JUNE 4th to coincide with the Tybee Tour of Homes. Each participating artist will be showcasing NEW artwork – one of which must be of a Tybee Home/Cottage/Business to commemorate the Tour of Homes. We have a lot of artists who are not participating yet, and WE want YOU!

Postponed: 1st Annual Anne Monahan Art Auction
ART AUCTION HAS BEEN POSPONED TO FURTHER DATE IN 2011
Anyone wishing more details or to donate items to the 1st Annual “Anne Monahan Art Auction” should call Tybee Arts President, Richard Adams at 912-224-5111. This event, which honors the memory of member Anne Monahan was to take place on December 4th but HAS BEEN POSTPONED, and will benefit “The Hospice.” We graciously accept art donations.; 50/50 also possible. We sincerely thank all the artists whom have already donated.
