April Art Show and Sale
“THIRSTY”
Are you THIRSTY? Join us during Wine Festival weekend and satisfy your thirst for good art, friendly people and win door prizes and raffles.
We are celebrating the one year anniversary of Tybee Arts Association’s ART SHOW & SALE.
We have grown from 8 artists a show to 20+ and want YOU to help us celebrate this achievement!
There will be a special juried exhibit of works on the theme of “Thirst.”
WHEN:
- Friday, April 13, from 6-9 opening reception and meet the artists
- Saturday, April 14 from 10-6
- Sunday April 15 from 10 – 5
WHERE:
- The Tybee Arts Center – and outdoor tents – #7 Cedarwood Ave (near the Lighthouse)
Our Anniversary Chair is Rebecca Rice who started the ART SHOW & SALE concept last year. She extends a personal invitation to experience the progress the Tybee Arts Association has made in showcasing the talents of local artists and craftspeople. We have had visitors from 18 States and several foreign countries and expect that number to keep climbing.
Browse Paintings, Prints, Stained Glass, Photography, Mosaics,
Art Quilts, Sculpture, Jewelry, Fiber Art and Outdoor Art while enjoying
live music, art demonstrations, and light refreshments.

Class – Fanciful Acrylics with guest artist – Jeanne Curtis
- Tuesday, March 6th from 5-8pm
- Guest artist Jeanne Curtis will be teaching painting techniques with bright colors of flowing acrylic paint on Yupo Paper.

- The class minimum is 6 and the maximum is 10.
- All supplies are furnished as she uses a specific brand of paint and medium.
- Class price is 45.00 per student.
- She is being sponsored by Rebecca Rice and Cheryl Martin.

Creation days are February 28th and 29th.
5-8pm both evenings.
Drop in and lay a few tiles, or stay for the whole tiling process.
(We will grout the sign a week later)

“FROM the HEART“
The Tybee Arts Association participating artists have
each rendered a new work reflecting their take related to the theme.
February 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Friday, 6pm to 9pm
Saturday, 10am to 6pm
Sunday, 10am to 5pm
NOTE: The February show will be held at The Tybee Arts Association building on #7 Cedarwood, Tybee Island, GA
Paintings, Prints, Stained Glass, Photography, Sculpture, Jewelry, Fiber Art, and Note Cards will reflect the individual artistic viewpoint of the artists and they are each encouraged to submit one themed piece – for February the theme is “From the Heart.” Enjoy live music, art demonstrations, and light refreshments. Meet the talented and quirky artists who are offering their work during this event.
Refreshments will be served
and there will be a raffle for items donated by the artists.
Drawings will be done several times each day.

Juried Art Show featuring Fine Art and Original Crafts
from Local and Low Country Artists.
$2,000.00 in Prize money – awarded Saturday.

New location this year – in Jaycee Park, behind the Arts Center @ #7 Cedarwood. We now have our own big top tent and refreshments will be available in the Arts Center. Painters, jewelers, potters, woodworkers, photographers, fabric, glass arts and weavers from throughout the Coastal Empire.
No charge to the public.

Update July Art Show & Sale
We just finished our second show and sold $2,280.00 of member art in June. We had 12 artists exhibiting.
The next show is JULY 9 & 10 – the theme is TYBEE VACATIONS.
If you want to be part of this experience, now is the time to sign up. You must be a 2011 member, put in 5 hours of preplanning/work and staff a 3 hour shift during the show. We have list of jobs to choose from and staggered hours for those of you holding down “other” jobs.

The Tybee Arts Association presents a monthly art show and sale and participating artists have each rendered a new work reflecting their take related to the theme.
The Tybee Arts Center is located at #7 Cedarwood Ave in the old Ft. Screven FireHouse.
Original work and prints will be displayed as well as jewelry, fiber art, clay and sculpture and will be available for purchase. There will be demonstrations during the July show!
